I can’t believe it’s already March! February came and went in the blink of an eye. The Counseling Corner got an upgrade last month...and truthfully, that was about it. I was lucky enough to spend February meeting with lots of students and families, and worked very hard to advocate for the needs of both.

This month’s theme is March Madness and the Counseling Corner now reflects that. I chose this theme because it’s my intention to focus on college awareness this month. In addition to the college wall in my office, the bulletin board features the logos of 64 colleges and universities around the country. These two spaces are a great way to spark a conversation about college and get students thinking about their futures and their plans. It is also my hope to secure a guest speaker or two from local colleges to come speak to my BRIDGES group this month, so stay tuned.

Also this month, we put together a clothing drive and our Cobra Closet could use your donations! We will be accepting donations of never worn or gently used clothes and shoes throughout the entire month of March. More specifically, we would love to collect promotion attire such as promotion dresses, dress shirts, ties, and dress shoes. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help our Cobras in need!

Lastly, just a reminder: WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN TRIMESTER 3! It’s the home stretch, Cobras. Make this trimester the best trimester. Whether you’re headed to 7th grade, 8th grade, or high school, it’s important to finish strong and it’s never too late to put your best foot forward.
